whatever i do in the kitchen — he does. he loves loves loves to bake and cook – anything and everything. regardless if he is going to eat it or not, he wants to participate in the project of preparing it. from getting out everything we need… the bowls, spoons, ingredients, and even kitchen towels for clean-up… he wants to be a part. and i let him. because it makes him happy, he’s learning, and he’s really getting helpful.
here’s a little video that i snapped with my iPhone while we were baking.

i feel like i am so very behind on blogging, housework, everything… i’m just to the point where i’m not keeping up very well lately.
we have so much going on with these 2 houses, the holidays approaching, and then the normal day-to-day chores and routines… that i just wish time would slow down, or that there were more hours in the day — or something.
but since i cannot make that happen, i am trying to just be present in each and every moment… and not worry about the small stuff… and tackle one to-do item at a time.
not trying to complain, but you know — it’s just life. and i am so grateful for every single bit of it.
do what you can

Allie - Well said, Lauren. I often tell my softball students that because they all do not “get it” the same way other students do. I have to work hard to give them different ideas, drills, words, verbals, articles, and pictures to help them. Everybody thinks differently… and I think it’s wonderful because it helps me think differently to- and that’s the best part!
Sometimes I learn more from them than they learn from me.
